When Is Peak Season?

In the U.S. Virgin Island, peak or high season is typically from November to April. Visitors travel to St. Thomas during this time to take advantage of holiday breaks and get some respite from the cold mainland weather. This is also the island’s dry season, so vacationers can enjoy fewer rain showers and slightly cooler, less humid weather (the average daytime high is 79°) than they would during the summer months.
When Should I Book My Peak Season Trip?

If you plan to visit St. Thomas during peak season, consider making your trip arrangements at least four months in advance. If you’d like to visit the island over Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year’s, you’ll want to start the planning process even sooner, as these weeks fill up first! Travel Tip: This is also a great time to check your passport status and get the ball rolling on a renewal if needed. A passport is not necessary for St. Thomas, St. John, St. Croix or Water Island, but will be needed if you’re planning a day trip to the nearby British Virgin Islands.
